At 3.30pm on Saturday 10 July 1937, an historical pageant procession took place in the town of Beverley, East Yorkshire. The procession involved various residents and civic dignitaries, who paraded through the town in period costume to reflect the various episodes of Beverley's history.
These included the 'Early Britons', 'The Coming of the Danes', 'The Craft Guilds' and the 'Tudors'. The production of the pageant involved making thousands of costumes especially for the event and was a huge community effort.
If you have a connection with anyone living in Beverley at the time, you might be able to spot them in this archive video footage of the procession!
