John-Ross (JR) Rizzo, MD is Assistant Professor, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, and Assistant Professor, Department of Neurology at NYU Langone Health, and current Choroideremia Research Foundation Board of Director member. In this presentation, Dr. Rizzo discusses new research advances regarding the commuting challenges that hinder employment by creating new connections between visually impaired residents and their surrounding environment. His research program envisions fundamental research for advanced wearables to support novel behavioral studies, optimized data streams, enhanced power management, and city-agency cooperation to fill a number of knowledge gaps.
