Boundary transparent sessions simplifies remote user access by minimizing or even removing user interactions with Boundary. This allows end users to connect to resources without changing their workflows or client tools. Create a free HCP account. HCP Boundary cluster is free for up to 5 users → [ Ссылка ]
Boundary has always prided itself on providing a simple experience for end users to connect to their desired target resources (Linux hosts via SSH, Windows hosts via RDP, Kubernetes clusters via kubectl, databases, web applications, etc). However, no matter how simple or intuitive a tool is designed, it usually still requires some time for users to familiarize themselves on how to navigate and use it, which can lead to low or slow adoption. This slow adoption is especially concerning for security tools that control access to infrastructure resources.
Transparent sessions is a core workflow upgrade designed to make the connection experience as simple as possible by minimizing or even eliminating user interaction with Boundary. Rather than requiring users to initiate a connection to a resource by actively running a Boundary CLI command or clicking on a Boundary Desktop UI button, users can use their existing workflows and go directly to their preferred client tools (SSH terminal, putty, RDP Client, etc) to connect to their targets. The experience is very similar to that of a VPN, but with much stronger security capabilities for credentials management, session management, and session recording. As a result, users dramatically reduce the time spent on learning and navigating new product tools, leading to more adoption and a stronger organizational security posture.
