A rather scenic approach into Auckland International Airport on the much delayed 1.15pm Air NZ service from Blenheim (December 22nd, 2024). Owing to busy Air traffic and notable westerlies, the approach took us across Franklin and the Clevedon Valley before turning over the Bucklands beach area around Manuakau. And thanks to a uncharacteristically clear Auckland day, great views of the firth of Thames and the Huaraki Gulf could be had.
This is will be my last trip upto Auckland for quite a while I imagine as family are moving from the area to the south island where I live. I don't miss is much but I do appreciate it on a good day like it was during this video.
