Putting this all together makes me pretty emotional as I look back on it all. And even though it’s been like 12 months instead of 6… I can happily say that it definitely has all been worth it. Even though towards the end I stopped sleeping and started feeling pretty bleak (thank you for your kind comments and advice then). But I feel absolutely incredibly lucky that this is our home, and simultaneously terrified because I’ve never had anything anywhere near this nice in my life, and the dark side of my brain tells me I don’t deserve it and I will lose it. :/
It isn’t all done yet… but it’s so far everything I’ve ever dreamed of 😭
We bought this place in January 2021, and as soon as I saw it I knew how I wanted to change the layout. I learnt how to use a free 3D model software and this helped a lot when I was designing the space and visualising measurements. We then worked with our architects (everyone we’ve worked with is listed below!) to draw up the plans, then our builders got to work.
I also did the measurements for the kitchen and planned it myself. I got pretty obsessed with literally millimetres, which is both a blessing and a curse. So obviously picking colours also took me forever too 😅. We needed to cut costs where possible - so we did all the painting ourselves, we lived in the house throughout, I learnt how to tile via the internet and we tiled ourselves.
I could talk about this forever!!! I’m filming a new YouTube video this Saturday, so let me know in the comments any questions you have about the kitchen and I will try to cover as much as I can!
