On the first day of our trip, we took a flight from Zurich to #Kiev. At the airport we rented a car for 3 days and drove south to the region around the cities of #Черкаси (Cherkasy), #Кременчук (Kremenchuk) and #Олександрія (Olexandrija). On this road trip we have visited some fascinating abanoned spots, for example bucket-wheel excavators and cranes in an abanoned quarry. After arriving back in Kiev, we visited the exclusion zone of #Chernobyl and the ghost town of #Prypiat for one day.
The next day we took a flight to #Riga, where we rented a car again and did a little road trip for two days to the east coast of Latvia. In #Liepaja and Karosta we have found old abanoned forts and bunkers from the second world war. After spending a night in Riga we took flights via Oslo and Tromsø to #Longyearbyen on the island of #Svalbard. Longyearbyen ist the most northern city on the world and a very special place on earth! From there we drove with skidoos to an old abanoned russian mining town called #Pyramiden.
