Swimming star Esther Williams plays the swimming star of a water show who attracts every man except the one she wants. Julie Hallerton's (Williams) heart belongs to Ray Lloyd (Van Johnson), the promoter of the Cypress Gardens water show. But he doesn't seem to notice her as anything more than his star attraction until both the show's swimming instructor and it's lead singer romance Hallerton. Features choreographer Busby Berkley's famous water-skiing, hang-gliding musical finale, filmed on location in Cypress Gardens, Florida.
