Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Uzbekistan's historic city of Samarkand on September 15th to attend the 22nd Shanghai Cooperation Organisation SCO Summit which is set to deliberate on regional security challenges, boosting trade and energy supplies among other issues. Modi left for Uzbekistan on a special flight from Delhi. Modi is expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on the sidelines of the SCO summit. The meeting with Putin after the invasion of Ukraine is of utmost importance.
