Vladimir Bulović is a professor of electrical engineering in the Research Laboratory of Electronics at MIT, the director of MIT’s Microsystems Technology Laboratories, and a MacVicar Faculty Fellow, an honor that recognizes MIT faculty who have made exemplary and sustained contributions to the teaching and education of undergraduates. He is also co-director of the Solar Frontiers Center, the Solar Revolutions Project, and the Energy Education Taskforce at the MIT Energy Initiative. As of 2011, Professor Bulović is the holder of 48 patents and is working with several companies started by students that were spun out of his lab. He earned an MS from Columbia University in 1993 and a PhD from Princeton in 1998.
