Regional cooperation has been a powerful force for economic development and inclusive growth in Asia and the Pacific. Yet, the region is now facing considerable challenges, with notable disruptions to integration due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Addressing these challenges will require coordinated action and a revitalized approach to the regional agenda, making the best use of digitalization and innovation. This edited volume provides a timely overview of regional cooperation in Asia and explores insights on how future cooperation initiatives can be implemented for a world reshaped by COVID-19.
The book examines Asia’s accomplishments and challenges in providing regional public goods, leveraging trade and investment for inclusive growth, strengthening financial cooperation and building resilience to enhance future cooperation on health, carbon markets and oceans.
This ADB Asian Impact session will bring together a group of distinguished policy makers and scholars to discuss the main findings of this volume and draw policy lessons for the future of regional cooperation in Asia and the Pacific.
