Here are various videos taken on December 26, 2021 and January 2, 2022, featuring the very last of MTA NYC Subway Budd Company R32 trains running in active service. On these days, eight R32 cars ran between 2nd Ave station on the F and 145th St station on the A/B/C/D between 10 AM and 5:30 PM. Pair 3360/3361 slowly had decals and paint applied on various parts to replicate the R32 cars' exterior appearance prior to an extensive overhaul in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Car 3894 was fitted with a WABCO AA-2 horn - the same horn used on SEPTA's Broad St subway cars, NJ Transit's Arrow 3 cars, all PATH cars, all R44 cars on Staten Island, and more!
From 1964, 600 R32 trains were put into service in the New York City Subway system. The last units started to run between December 19, 2021 and January 9, 2022 on the several commemorational holiday trips and an express variant of the Q, marking almost 58 years of R32 trains in the system.
