Piracy had been one of the mostly reported crimes in Madang Province according to the police records.
Officer in Charge of the Criminal Investigation Division, Inspector Steven Yalamu confirmed that according to police reports there are many incomplete files regarding piracy.
He thanked Rai Coast District Development Authority under the leadership of MP Kessy Sawang in addressing the needs of Madang Water Police to counter piracy with the donation of an outboard motor and boat.
