If you always wanted to sleep on a king size bed but couldn’t get one in your home, this DIY single to king zip bed project is a great solution.
This is great if you require different mattress support to the person you sleep with or you need a bigger bed for guests or visitors over the holidays.
Unlike the bed bridges on the market, there are no straps or buckles to deal with.
Join two single mattresses to create a king size bed.
Simply handstitch a size 10 separating zipper on each side of the mattresses and Voila! You have a king size bed.
All you need is some strong topstitch or upholstery thread, a long sharp needle with a large eye, snippers and some pins.
Sew a running stitch between the marks on each end and then push the ends of the closed zipper between the mattresses.
