Tsar Alexander III of Russia (1845-1894) and his wife, Tsarina Maria Feodorovna (1847-1928) were the parents of the last tsar of Russia, Nicholas II. In the late 1880s, the tsarina's father, Christian IX of Denmark was very interested in audio recordings using wax cylinders. The technology was developed by Thomas Edison and debuted at the Paris World's Fair. The Russian royal couple recorded their voices, and a song, sometime in the late 1880s / early 1890s. These recordings are over 120 years old!
