It’s time to switch to a yummy, homemade sauce made with fresh tomatoes. It’s very simple to make & works as a good accompaniment for snacks.
👉🏼Tomatoes have high water content, are a good source of vitamin C that boosts immunity & vitamin A which is great for eyesight
👉🏼They contain a powerful antioxidant called lycopene which is associated with a decreased risk of chronic diseases
👉🏼Garlic is helpful in treating intestinal & respiratory infections, promotes digestion & has anti-inflammatory properties that support the immune system
👉🏼Onions contain fibre, folate, vitamin C, and potassium that contribute to your child’s daily nutritional needs
Method:
🍅In a cooker, combine 8 tomatoes, 4 onions, 10 garlic cloves, a piece of ginger, salt & water
🍅Cook for 3-4 whistles
🍅Blend the mix & strain it
🍅Add a little jaggery to sweeten
🍅Cook till the water evaporates & your healthy tomato sauce is ready!
