Who invented the running man?

While scrolling through my YouTube feed I came across a video made a few years ago of the Tom Joyner cruise that featured Oaktown 357's member Lil P. During an interview she revealed that she invented the classic running man dance. I was so shocked about what she said I immediately went to Instagram and asked Sweet LD (Oaktown member) if this was true and she confirmed the story.

You may remember Oaktown 357 from dancing in early MC Hammer videos and going on to release several albums later in their career.
