Thai court clears the way for PM Prayut to return from suspension
Thailand's Constitutional Court on Friday (Sep 30) ruled Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha had not exceeded the maximum eight years allowed in office, clearing the way for his return from a five-week suspension.
The ruling will be a big boost for Prayut, a staunch royalist whose premiership has been beset by attempts to unseat him, including four house censure motions, a conflict of interest case, and protests challenging his leadership and the monarchy.

Thailand fully reopens to tourists - Pre-pandemic travel reinstated
After nearly three years, today is THE DAY. In July of 2021, officials cheered the reopening of Thailand with the Phuket Sandbox. Then we had other sandboxes, Test & Go the Thailand Pass, and numerous other stepping stones. Then in July of this year, we ditched so many regulations and declared a reopening. But today, October 1, Thailand officially declares full and unrestricted post-Covid pandemic reopening.

LTR Update - Long Term Resident Visa
Around 600-700 foreigners have applied for the 10-year long-term resident (LTR) visa program that was launched on September 1, the government said. Of those, 60% were American and European and 40% were Asians, mostly retirees. Deputy PM Supattanapong Punmeechaow said on Thursday that the government to look to amend the law to allow foreigners who invested at least Bt20 million, instead of Bt40 million, in Thailand to be able to buy a house on a one rai land.
