Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who works on the National Security Council, told the House Intelligence Committee that he was willing to testify in the public impeachment hearings into President Donald Trump because “Right matters.” Rep. Sean Maloney asked the Army officer why he was able to assure his own father, who immigrated to the U.S. from Ukraine, that he did not have to worry about the repercussions Vindman might face for speaking out. “This is America. This is the country I have served and defended, that all my brothers have served. And here, right matters,” Vindman said. Vindman testified alongside Jennifer Williams, an aide to Vice President Mike Pence, on Nov. 19 in the impeachment probe into Trump.
