Typhoon Lekima is venturing through the East China Sea and remains a formidable Category 4 storm on the Saffir-Simpson Scale. The storm still poses a severe rain and wind threat to China at this time, and will move up the coast this weekend and possibly deliver hurricane force winds to Shanghai.
Typhoon Krosa remains large and just shy of major typhoon status at this time. The storm is moving very slowly at this time and lies just south of Iwo Jima. Models have been trending westwards recently, putting the main islands of Japan under more threat next week.
