TRIBUN-TIMUR.COM - The Minister of Defense, (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto, met with the United States Minister of Defense, Lloyd James Austin III at the Pentagon Building, United States, Thursday (24/8/2023).
The two Ministers of Defense discussed commitments between countries, in this case, as the world's largest democracy towards the rule of law and professionalization.
This year, Indonesian cadets from the Indonesian Army, Air Force and Indonesian Navy have continued their studies in America.
Prabowo conveyed his appreciation for the education of more than 7,000 Indonesian military personnel and civilians in the United States, as well as the training and education funds that had been given to Indonesian students by the United States since 1970.
The two Ministers of Defense also emphasized that the strength of the strategic partnership's pillar of defense would soon return.
During the meeting, Indonesia and the United States have mutually decided to preserve international law and norms, increase their joint security and defense capabilities, and remain guided by the principles of shared democracy.
