The Iron Wolf legend comes from Grand Duke Gediminas's dream about an iron wolf who "howled with the strength of 100 wolves." On the spot of the dream Grand Duke Gediminas built what would become the Lithuanian city of Vilnius.
Today Lithuania and its Iron Wolf Brigade is known as an elite mechanized brigade and a major NATO partner.
