Take a peek at the gorgeous flower on this Raymond Evison™ variety of clematis, 'Empress'. This has unique flowering as it starts out with these dark pink bands of color running down the center of each petal but then changes to a paler pink... almost white outer tepals that have a darker pink bar. The narrow inner tepals expand to produce a spikey pom-pom effect. It is compact, free and repeat flowering. Growing to about 6' it adds stunning color to trellises, walls and can even be put in a large container on your deck, patio or by the swimming pool etc.
