Roger Smalligan, MD talks with Steve Spencer, Founder of the Birmingham Medical News, about the NIH-funded All of Us program, which aims to create the largest health database in the world, including information on genetics, health history, pharmaceuticals and more. Participants get their genome sequenced, and provide their medical history. The information is available to them, but they are anonymous in the database.
This database will be an incredible resource for researchers, hopefully leading to personalized medicine.
