Did you know Commodore had their own version of UNIX for the Amiga? I only found out because I've been researching Amiga in restoring my video toaster, so I thought it would be worthwhile to take a look at this forgotten beast. At a minimium, it has GCC, compilers, and more, so we can have a bit of fun with it. I unfortunately don't have the Amiga A3000UX it needs to run, so we'll be looking at this in emulation.
Today, we're going to take a look at System V UNIX for the Amiga, sometimes known as Commodore UNIX or AMIX for short, and then from there .
