The Mosquito Fire burning through California’s El Dorado and Placer counties, located along the Sierra Nevada mountains, has forced more than 11,000 people to evacuate their homes. The fire has so far destroyed at least 46 structures and is threatening 5,800 more. So far, almost 50,000 acres have been burned and firefighters have only managed to contain about 18% of the fire, as it is fueled by dry vegetation.
