As the New Year begins, Lira Diocese celebrated a milestone as fifteen religious sisters were consecrated perpetually to serve the Lord.
In his New Year message delivered during the consecration ceremony, Bishop Sanctus Lino Wanok of Lira Diocese urged Christians to focus on the mission of Christ and promote peace for humanity.

It was a joyful day in Lira Diocese as 15 religious sisters of the congregation of Missionary Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church made their perpetual vows in a ceremony held at the Mother House in Ngetta, Lira City.
After over three years of discernment, the sisters made the ultimate commitment, dedicating themselves permanently to God’s service.
A key moment in the ceremony saw the sisters prostrate before the altar, symbolizing total surrender to God. This was followed by the bishop presenting them with rings, signifying their status as brides of Christ. Byte
The event also honored three sisters who have devoted over 50 years to serving God. Their dedication was recognized by Pope Francis, who commended their generous service to the Church.
In his message to the congregation, Bishop Sanctus Lino Wanok called on humanity to embrace calmness and return to the mission of God.
