The next time you speak to someone, ask yourself: Do I feel energized or depleted?
If you feel energized, the following are probably true about your relationship with that person: A mutual respect exists between you. You trust each other. You’re able to ask them for help and you’re willing to lend a hand when they ask you. And when you spend time together, it’s generally fun. Am I right?
There’s no argument that these types of relationships are important to maintain, not just in the workplace, but all throughout life-- But how do we do that? How do we cultivate more of these high quality connections in the workplace and beyond?
