The coffee spill happened just in front of a row of turnstiles, and staff members at the Netherlands parliament stood by as it disappeared without a trace. Mark Rutte, their prime minister, was cleaning. And, from the looks of it, having a whale of a time. Mop in hand, watched by applauding staff, Rutte looked as enthused as he might have been if you'd told him he just won an election.
