David R. Boyd made his final address as Special Rapporteur on human rights and the environment to the United Nations Human Rights Council on 6 March 2024.
In an at times emotional speech, Mr. Boyd described how the Council's 2021 resolution recognizing the right to a safe, clean, healthy and sustainable environment had been a catalyst for governments and civil society around the world.
