An Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190, en route from Baku to Grozny, crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, after declaring an emergency mid-flight.
The aircraft had been rerouted due to thick fog in Grozny; reports say the pilots declared an emergency landing before the plane tragically impacted the ground and burst into flames.
Of the 62 passengers and 5 crew onboard, anywhere from 28 to 32 people survived, with many receiving medical treatment-some in critical condition. Reports are currently conflicting on the number of survivors.
It's reported both pilots lost their lives in the crash.
