In order to change 23/25 to decimal form we need to divide 23 by 25. We know that since 23 is smaller than 25 we are going to end up with a number less than 1.
We can divide 23/25 with a calculator or do it longhand. In this video I did the division longhand (but checked my answer with a calculator). When we divide 23 by 25, we get 0.92.
So: 23/25 = 0.92
0.92 is less than 1 so that is a good way to check if our answer is reasonable. You could also multiply your answer by the denominator and you should get the numerator. In this case 0.92 x 25 = 23.
Note that 23/25 and 0.92 represent the same quantity, they are just written in different formats. 23/25 is a fraction and 0.92 is in decimal form.
