Today the first EETS truck drove into Switzerland. For Switzerland is now connected to the EU's Europe-wide compatible electronic toll service (EETS). The advantage: Drivers of foreign transport vehicles no longer have to get off at the border and buy a HVF voucher to pay the performance-related heavy vehicle fee (LSVA). All this is now done digitay with the aid of an onboarding unit in the driver's cab. The onboarding units come from private registration service providers (EETS providers). The first EETS provider, TELEPASS, drove to Switzerland near Chiasso today.
