An indigenous financial tool in India that has been catering to the financial needs of rural households for time immemorial. This short film was showcased at a Financial Inclusion workshop conducted by IFMR LEAD in New Delhi, this year.
The focus of the workshop was to discuss and deliberate the role of indigenous “bottom-up” institutions like Chit funds, in the Government initiatives towards achieving financial inclusion in India. This workshop was attended by senior officials from RBI, Ministry of Finance, think tanks, International Organisations and academicians from the field.
