Erik Solheim, Norway's Minister of the Environment and International Development, forcefully responds to the allegations brought up by Danish film maker Tom Heinemann in the documentary "Caught in Micro Debt," saying that investigations found "absolutely no suspicion of any corrupt practices in investment of funds or use of the money for what it was not meant for." He adds that Prof. Yunus has played "an enormously important global role in promoting micro-credit," which the Norwegian government sees as an very important tool for the alleviation of poverty globally."
