xanthelasma is the fat which is deposited inside the skin, because the skin of the eyelids are very soft so fat gets deposited easily inside these layers. This is not directly related to the increased fat in the blood i.e. hypercholesterolemia but can be seen in various conditions. it may be seen in liver disorders and thyroid disorders too.
