(22 Aug 2018) An Argentine couple won the World Tango Championship in the salon tango category in Buenos Aires on Tuesday night.
32-year-old Jose Luis Salvo and 30-year-old Carla Rossi live in Buenos Aires.
It is the third time they have participated in the championship, coming second last year.
The main characteristic of the salon tango is the constant tango embrace.
Tuesday's final included 40 couples from around the world, including Argentina, Spain, Italy, Russia, the Netherlands, Colombia, Brazil and Indonesia.
The four top places went to Argentine couples and the fifth to a Russian one.
Nearly 600 artists performed in this running of the World Tango Championship.
The winning couple received a prize of around 2,700 US dollars and return flight tickets to Madrid.
