Hey I'm Jude,
I'm remodeling a 1979 Argosy which was manufactured by Airstream.
I decided to use 3/16 inch aluminum rather than plywood for the new subfloor. Filled in the additional wall channel gap with 5/16" aluminum plate and I'm using 1/8" neoprene rubber to insulate between the steel frame in the new aluminum subfloor. The frame was prepped with marine grade polyurethane primer and paint from Total boat and the aluminum subfloor was riveted at every 12 inches with stainless steel rivets to the frame, along with being bolted through the wall channels to the outriggers.
I wanted to document this project by uploading it to YouTube and I hope it brings inspiration to others. This is my first Airstream and I would love to hear other people's ideas so please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
Thanks for watching!
