Today in this video we will see two ways by which you can hide photos and videos present in the gallery of your android device. One way will be without using any app and the second way is by using google photos. So if you want to hide without using any app what you do is you just have to rename the extension of the file. So I will open the Samsung folder and go to "My Files". If you are using some other android devices then you can use file explorer application. Go to "Internal storage". Then go to DCIM folder and then these are the folders where you can have photos or videos stored. If you want to go to gallery you can go to camera here and this will show you photos or videos that are present in the gallery. Now suppose if you want to hide any photo then what you do is either you can rename the extension of the photo in gallery only or else you can move this photo to some another folder. It's better if you move the photo to another folder so that you can hide it. So if I want to hide any photo then I will select it. If you want to select more then you can select. After that tap on this option "Move" and then we will go back and let me go to this "Internal storage" and let me create a folder. So tap on more option here. Create folder and let me just name it ABC for time being. Create. So let me open the ABC folder and tap on this option "Move here" so that the photos will be moved to this folder. After that what you have to do is we have to rename the extension of these pictures. Now what I will do is I will at first select a picture and then tap on this more option here and then "Rename now". What you have to do is you have to rename the extension of the file. All the picture files that you have taken with your android phone's camera will have jpg extension. So you have to rename it as something else for example let us say

something whatever you want and if you want you can also rename the file

and then rename now. You will get a message that if you change the extension of the file, the file may become unusable. You can select change now. You can see the file is changed and if someone tries to open it they cannot open and if they try to search in google play store any application to open the file then they cannot find any application to open the file. Similarly if you want you can change the extension of the other file also. You have to change the extension of each file individually. You cannot select all of the files and change the extension at once. So in this way you will be able to hide the picture. Similarly you can go back to internal storage. DCIM and you can also look for these folders where you can have the pictures and then you can move these pictures to the newly created folder and then you can rename the extension. So this is one way. Now the other way is you can use google photos also. Go to this Google folder. Open these photos. Tap on Library. Tap on "Utilities" here. Scroll down and then you will tap on this option here "Locked folder". Now you have to either use your fingerprint or the pass code that you have used to lock your device. So let me use the password. So once you use the password then you will get this screen. Tap on "Move items" here. Now you can select any picture or videos that you want to move. These are the pictures or videos that is present in the gallery of your android device. So suppose if I want to move this once I will select this and then move. Now there is a message that the pictures or videos that you move, they will stop being backed up or they can't be shared since they are locked inside the folder and also these pictures and videos they will move from the gallery of your android device to the locked folder. So select "Move".

Now if you have to view those files. Go to this option "use password" or "scan your fingerprint". Let me select use password. So these are the photos that I have moved from the gallery to the locked folder in google photos. Now these photos won't be available in gallery. It will be only inside this locked folder and if somebody tries to view this locked folder they have to either use my fingerprint or they have to use the passcode.
