British pianist Gerald Moore, famous as an accompanist to the most famous singers of the pre- and post-War generation, in one of his very few commercial solo recordings, a marvellous reading of his own transcription of Schubert's lied 'An die Musik' Op.88 No.4. Recorded November 9, 1949, this disc captures his beautiful robust singing sonority, fluid phrasing, and natural timing to perfection.
Many thanks to Tom Jardine for providing this marvellous transfer of this obscure recording.
