A blister this size definitely needs to be popped. I would not recommend doing this at home I would recommend seeing a physician or a surgeon that can do this. If you don’t pop this a couple things can happen. One, it can lead to increase pressure under the fluid which can damage the underlying skin. Secondly, you are at increased risk for infection. In my surgical practice, I will typically decompress these blisters and remove the overlying skin so that I can control the environment that it will heal in. I do not recommend doing this on your own I would recommend seeing a physician!
