On May 26th 2024, the 79th year anniversary of the World War II Dunkirk Evacuation (Operation Dynamo), we will be launching the greatest watch of our company’s history, and it deserves an explanation early for you to prepare for it.
We are collaborating with a London Fire Brigade Fire Boat called The Massey Shaw that is registered in the history books for saving over 600 allied troops from the beaches of Dunkirk in World War II. A brave crew of 13 men sailed the channel crossing between Great Britain and France, back and forth, in this small LFB fire boat, to extract as many troops as they could. The boat and the crew is a heroic symbol and we have accounts from family members of the 600 troops that they saved owing their loved ones lives to this vessel and its crew. The boat is now a floating museum, and it requires engine repairs for a trip it is going to take in 2025 on the 80 year anniversary of Operation Dynamo, with as many of the original Little Ships as possible that saved troops from Dunkirk, making the channel crossing again once more. It will be an incredible site, with hundreds of little ships coming together, like they did in 1940.
We are producing a brand new, custom built, Swiss-Made Watch that will house the original 1940’s engine parts from the boat inside, as well as display distinct nods to the bravery of the crew, boat and World War II.
Every customer who purchases this watch will have their name engraved onto a plaque on the boat which will make the channel crossing along with all of the other original little ships in 2025, so you will sail the same journey, and become a part of history.
The watch will be priced at £3,995 GBP, or 6 payments of £665. The watch will launch on May 26th 2024 (79th year anniversary of Operation Dynamo) and deliver in November 2024 in time for you to wear on Remembrance Day (UK) or Veterans Day (US). We have made a £10,000 GBP donation to The Massey Shaw Partnership Trust contributing towards the repairs required to fix the engine on this incredible piece of history. This will be our most sought after watch ever, as you are both owning and becoming a part of history.
The Massey Shaw boat was also acknowledged for saving St Paul's Cathedral in London during the Blitz, by pumping water up from the Thames to the firefighters at the cathedral, saving the building that is so iconic on the London skyline. There is also documentary evidence proving that the National Heath Service (NHS) in the UK was created around the kitchen table of the boat as it sailed up the Thames with the original founders of the NHS. We have commissioned an industry leading British watch designer to design this incredible watch, and the result is breathtaking.
We are compiling a list of customers who are interested in this watch and I wanted to give you enough prior warning to save into your 2024 watch fund. If this watch is of genuine interest to you, or a family member or friend, please email us at info@williamwoodwatches com, subject heading, Dunkirk Watch, to be added to our interested list.
