The 2024 Range Rover Sport SV is getting its elbows out in the premium Large SUV segment, where it goes tyre to tyre with other high-performance flagships, including the BMW X5 M, Audi RS Q8 and Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S, among others.
In fact, the next-generation Range Rover Sport SV gets its 4.4-litre twin-turbo petrol V8 engine from the X5 M, with its potent tune delivering 467kW of power and 800Nm of torque. It also takes its eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission and 48V mild-hybrid system from the German bruiser, which is no bad thing.
But in this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Stephen Ottley travels to Portugal to get behind the wheel of the new Range Rover Sport SV to find out if it does enough to stand itself apart from not only the BMW but also the Audi and Mercedes-AMG. Needless to say, its sharp exterior design and luxurious cabin will surely help.
