Dennis Padilla recently expressed his deep pride for his daughter Julia Barretto during an emotional conversation on the vlog "Julius Babao Unplugged." The comedian shared that he has collected every magazine cover featuring Julia, proudly preserving them. "Whenever I see her on a magazine, I buy two copies. One I open, the other I keep preserved," Dennis shared. "I’m proud of her. I’m proud to be the dad of Julia Barretto." How do you think Dennis’ pride for his daughter has influenced their relationship?
Dennis also opened up about the challenges he’s faced in his relationship with Julia and his other children, especially since his separation from their mother. He revealed that it’s been four years since he last had a personal conversation with Julia. He shared how difficult it has been for him to be separated from his children. "Being apart from your partner is painful, but being apart from your children is even more painful," he said. Why do you think Dennis feels such a deep emotional pain when separated from his children?
Reflecting on the past, Dennis shared painful memories of when his children were younger, and the emotional goodbyes that followed their visits. "Every time we'd part, I’d cry. It wasn’t just when they were little, but even as they grew older," Dennis recalled. He explained that the distance grew when his children moved to a new house. This, in turn, led to a period of disconnection, with Dennis once following their car to their new home. Julia, then around 13 or 14 years old, asked him not to follow them anymore, which marked a turning point in their relationship. How do you think this moment affected their connection over time?
Though their time together is limited to birthdays and holidays, Dennis expressed a desire for more meaningful conversations. "There’s no sharing about how they are at home. It feels like the conversations are limited," he explained. He longed for deeper exchanges where they could talk freely and openly, without holding back. "I want a long conversation where I can listen to them first, and then I can share my thoughts," Dennis added. Do you think having such an open and honest conversation could help repair their relationship?
Despite the distance, Dennis has continued to reach out to his children through public posts on their special days. He does this to let them know he hasn’t forgotten them, even if they don’t always respond. "I just want them to know I’m still thinking of them," Dennis shared. He admitted, though, that sometimes the lack of acknowledgment can be frustrating, especially when he feels ignored. Still, he remains hopeful that one day they’ll reconnect on a deeper level. Do you think these efforts by Dennis will eventually lead to healing and reconciliation with his children?
