The E233 series (E233系) is a major type of rolling stock operating on JR East commuter network. Introduced in 2006, over 3,000 cars have been built. It can be sub-divided into eight different variants.

The variant featured in this video is the E233-2000 series (E233系 2000番台) used on the JR East Joban Line (常磐線). A total of 18 trainsets were built by Tokyu Car Corporation. They are fitted with Mitsubishi Electric IGBT-VVVF traction control system, and capable of operating through services on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line (千代田線).
