This is a combined cataract surgery/ DMEK (descemets membrane endothelial keratoplasty) case that was performed today. Tissue was from a 63 year old donor and pre warmed which I think helps it open up easier. A small air bubble is placed first and then 25/% SF6 is used for the rest of the air fill. The patient is checked one hour later with a slit lamp to make sure that the air does not cover the inferior P.I. I made the P.I. in the office with a laser prior to surgery to avoid intraoperative bleeding.
