"Silents Yachts are very pleased you have reviewed our range of yachts, however, there are several factual errors contained within your video. For example, The kW requirement at 7.5 knots on the Silent 80 is about 60 kW total and with nearly 700 kWh of battery capacity on the 2025 model, this gives a range of circa 85 miles using batteries only.

We would like to extend you an invitation to visit our shipyard in Italy as our guest and fully understand the technical aspects of our yachts and be able to report correctly. Please contact us via the website.

Silent Yachts is the company offering solar catamarans and luxury electric yachts. They market their solar electric yachts as completely autonomous and sustainable but we understand that a couple of solar panels won’t take you to a transatlantic trip without a zero chance to use other power sources but the sun.

So, in this video, I want to discuss the solar-only range of Silent Yachts 80 catamaran and show several finding that I believe should be considered if you ever want to buy or rent out such a vessel.
