IMPORTANT - I was stupid to handle this bat without gloves even though I was trying to help if the bite had broken the skin I could have been in a world of trouble.

Does this mean I have rabies now or will I just turn into a vampire?
I think this is a Daubenton's bat but someone more knowledgeable can correct me on that. They skim the surface of my pond on a night but this is the first time I have seen one during the day.
We sometimes see the Pipistrelle bats during the day in late summer but this looks larger than those guys.
As long as it isn't a vampire bat I'll be OK, lol
