I know most were looking for an updated mark ii version of the original XF35mm f/1.4 R, but in many ways, this is better. Not that the new XF33mm f/1.4 R LM WR is a better lens, but the fact that we now have options. If you love the XF35mm f/1.4 R, then no worries that it will be discontinued. If you want a more modern Fujilux in the standard focal length, then we have the new lens. The penalty for a lens with a modern design, faster linear motor and weather-sealing is size and weight. That's right folks, we can't have it all.
