Prices of fertilizers are increasing day by day with the passage of time. There is a need to these fertilizers carefully and efficiently so that we can achieve maximum benefit of its usage. SOP fertilizer (Sulphate of potash, potassium sulphate fertilizer) is one of the expensive fertilizers available in the market. Its formulation present in powder form is more effective as compared to solid grain form. In this video, wrong method of SOP chatta has been highlighted so that farmers may save there precious resources to be utilized effectively and efficiently. Most of the fertilizers are applied through broadcast method. This is an easy and conventional method of fertilizer application. Shallow incorporation is advised for its efficient use. Broadcast application is mostly advised at the sowing time. Most part of Phosphorus, half of potash and one third of nitrogen can be applied through broadcast method as basal application. When crop achieves height, its canopy covers soil and broadcast application becomes difficult, then fertigation method is suggested. Fertilizer is dissolved in a drum, it is evenly distributed along with irrigation water. Some of the fertilizers are not easily dissolved.
