A nice quality balsa/ply/monokote model with decent details but not for the novice pilot. I rigged it with fine elastic thread because I'm into details. This is definitely a rudder aeroplane and can be flown very scale like. It wasn't actually flying as fast as it looks in this video. It lands hotter than I think it should for a WW1 biplane. It would be a lot better with less wing loading, so a larger version (40-42 inch wingspan) would be nice. The interplane struts screw to very small plywood tabs which are glued into slots in the wings. These tabs break very easily when it flips over on landing. It would be a big improvement if the tabs were nylon, metal, or some kind of hard rubber compound.
Many thanks to my mate Craig for the excellent camera work and who I didn't hit with the unintentional low pass.
